Sometimes, people that feel cornered in their life will lash out at anybody, even the people that want to help them. Momma is very, very proud of you for keeping a calm and level hold on the situation.
In order to calm yourself, it’s best to listen to calming music. Watch your breathing, and be conscious of it. Feel the air running through your body, and try to slow it down.
Try a muscle relax method. Clench your fists as hard as you can, to the point that you are shaking. Now slowly and with control, relax them.
